1518605 Agglomerating minerals under pressure COORDINATION ET DEVELOPPEMENT DE L'INNOVATION SA 1 June 1976 [3 June 1975] 22634/76 Addition to 1481479 Heading B1X [Also in Divisions B5 and Cl] A process for agglomerating compressible mineral substances, such as powders, particles or fibres, in the presence of water with which they react chemically under the simultaneous effect of pressure and a temperature higher than 100‹C, comprises the steps of predensifying the compressible substances by mechanical pressure in the cold state, the placing in contact with these substances in which the quantity of water is such that after evaporation a quantity of water remains which is sufficient to ensure chemical reaction, a thickness or layer of a member permeable to steam and to gases and submitting the whole to the simultaneous action of mechanical pressure and heat at a temperature such that the mechanical pressure of the bonding is slightly higher than the pressure of saturated steam at that temperature.
