Abstract

1518582 Hepatitis B vaccine COMMUNITY BLOOD COUNCIL OF GREATER NEW YORK Inc 9 March 1976 [14 March 1975 17 Nov 1975] 09299/76 Heading A5B A vaccine against viral hepatitis comprises antigenic particles of size 30 to 50 nm containing unprecipitated free hepatitis B surface antigen and at least 5% of said particles containing unprecipitated antigens specific to filaments or hepatitis B Dane particles, and having less than 10 units per 1000 units of hepatitis B surface antigen, of hepatitis B surface antigen antibodies, together with a physiologically acceptable medium. The vaccine is prepared from blood serum of chronic hepatitis B carriers, by removing unwanted proteinaceous matter, inactivating virus in the serum, and diluting with a suitable medium.
