1518389 Sheet sensors POLYGRAPH LEIPZIG KOMBINAT FUR POLYGRAPHISCHE MASCHINEN UND AUSRUSTUNGEN VEB 14 Oct 1976 [21 Oct 1975] 42705/76 Heading B8R A sheet sensor which measures capacitance across a sheet feeding nip and thus detects absence of, or double sheets 9, comprises a transport roller 1 which protrudes through a slot in a feed table (3), Fig. 1 (not shown), and against which an outer annulus 6À2 is urged. The annulus 6À2 is rotatably supported by balls or rollers 6À3 on an inner annulus 6À1 fixed by an insulating ring 5 to a support 4. The inner annulus is connected electrically to suitable circuitry which determines the capacitance between the inner annulus and the earthed transport roller 1.
