Abstract

1518190 Radiographic apparatus AO:S METALL & MEK VERKSTAD AB 11 Nov 1975 [25 Nov 1974] 46587/75 Heading H5R A radiographic apparatus having an arm 4 carrying an X-ray source 6 and a detector 5 and which can be moved vertically and rotationally is provided with respective electromagnetic brakes 7, 11 for the two movements, these brakes being released when elongated contacts 15, 16 over a substantial length of the arm are actuated. In Fig. 2 (not shown) the long contacts 15,16 are replaced by shorter contacts of similar total length and also further contacts which reapply the brakes if, for example, the arm 4 approaches a patient. Separate contacts may be provided for the two movements or single contacts may release the two brakes alternately. Limiting circuitry can be arranged to prevent undesirable combination of elevation and tilt.
