Abstract
1517862 Cathode supplies for cathode-ray tubes INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP 22 June 1976 [1 July 1975] 25836/76 Heading H4T [Also in Division H2] In a television receiver, the supply for the heater of the cathode-ray tube is derived from the horizontal centring coil HCTr which corrects the position of the image on the screen of the tube. A primary winding of a flyback transformer FTr is supplied with a horizontal line sweep signal HLF and a secondary winding of the transformer is connected via a D.C. blocking capacitor C to horizontal deflection coils HDC. The horizontal centring coil, which has a high impedance to prevent short circuiting of the coils HDC, is constructed as an auto transformer from which the heater voltage V PTH for the cathode ray tube is tapped. In a modification, the auto transformer is replaced by a transformer having separate primary and secondary windings, the secondary winding providing the heater voltage and the d.c. for the horizontal centring control.
