Abstract

1516975 Luggage racks FREELINE Ltd 29 Sept 1975 [15 Oct 1974] 44675/74 Heading B7J A luggage rack for attachment to a vehicle boot lid comprises a circular-section tubular generally rectangular frame 10 having rectangular section tubular members 12 welded to its shorter sides, generally L-shaped leg members 16 of rectangular channel section being telescopically adjustable by screws 22 in the ends of the members 12, depending portions 20 of the legs 16 having inturned feet 24 to engage the upper surface of a vehicle boot lid at the edge thereof and the portions 20 also having welded thereto open-ended sleeves 26 to slidably receive generally vertical plugs 28 having at their lower ends inturned feet 30 to engage the lower surface of the bootlid at the edge thereof, the feet 24, 30 being drawn together to clamp the frame by screws 32 engaging with upper ends of the plugs 28. The frame 10 has one broken long side, the gaps being bridged by an inverted U-shaped frame 14 secured to the frame 10 by screws and washers. In use, the frame 14 is lowermost on the boot lid to retain luggage.
