1516814 Film dispenser WAINCO PRODUCTS Ltd 5 Jan 1977 [5 Jan 1976] 00133/76 Heading B8M A box whereby a length of sensitized film is fed or loaded into a (photographic) processing installation comprises a rolled film storage chamber, an aperture through which an end of the film passes so that an end portion is outside the chamber (without admitting light thereto) and a track on which, in use, lies the end portion but with at least part of its edge region not bearing against the track, e.g. the track is partially cut-away for such purpose, so that the end portion may be gripped: the aperture may be spring-biased into a normally closed position. The leading-box may be combined with a releasably attached device whereby film is fed into the box from a resiliently mounted, wound spool prior to normal separate use of the box in the installation. A locating tongue on the device enters a slot in the box and actuates a slidable plate to open the aperture in the box (to allow film to be fed therethrough) as the device and box are combined, and the film is secured by a manually operable cutter when a required length has been coiled in the box. The film may be fed into the box by pulling on (and so separating therefrom) a backing strip, or by means of a toothed driving wheel the teeth of which engage perforations in the film.
