1516568 Spray-producers; mixing fluids in flow R BOUILLARD and H BOUILLARD 21 Oct 1976 [5 Nov 1975] 43733/76 Headings B1C and B2F [Also in Division Fl] Apparatus for atomizing a mixture of two different liquids comprises a housing 2 mounted on a container 5 for a first liquid, a coupling member 7 for supplying a second liquid under pressure to a slightly convergent pipe 12, a Venturi-type pressure regulator 13 in said pipe, a nozzle member 21 disposed in said pipe downstream of said pressure regulator and having a stepped outer surface and a longitudinal bore 27 through which the atomized liquid mixture is discharged into a diverging frusto-conical outlet portion 32 on whose peripheral border is mounted an adjustable deflector 35, an annular suction chamber 24 defined by the inner surface of the pipe 12 and the outer surface of the nozzle member 21, and, communicating with said suction chamber, a suction pipe 6 extending into the container 5, a transverse channel 28 in the nozzle member 21 and a suction control channel 29 terminating in an orifice which can be blocked by the thumb of the operator. When the control channel 29 is closed, the flow of the second liquid through the nozzle member 21 creates a partial vacuum in the suction chamber and causes the first liquid to be sucked up through the pipe 6. A conical filter 10 is disposed between the coupling member 7 and the pressure regulator 13. The housing 2 may be made of moulded plastics material.
