1516049 Detecting current flow INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP 25 Nov 1976 [3 Dec 1975] 49184/76 Heading G1U [ Also in Division H4 ] Current flowing in either direction in a line lg 2, e.g. to a telephone handset PA, is detected by applying a fraction R1, R2 of the voltage drop across Zener diode ZD1 or ZD2 in the line to a LED DE1 or DE2, light from which switches photo-transistor PT1 or PT2. The outputs of the photo-transistors pass to logic circuits NB1, NB2.
