Abstract
1515988 Resistance thermometers ROSEMOUNT ENG CO Ltd 22 March 1977 [14 June 1976] 24577/76 Heading H1K A resistance thermometer comprises an elongated element 10 of uniform cross-section and having a pair of connection points 12, 13 connected to leads 16-19 which extend along the element 10, the arrangement being enclosed and sealed within a ceramic housing 20. The element 10 may be of Pt wire wound on a former or a film on a substrate. The leads 16- 19 are U-shaped with the bases of the U, 14, 15 connected to the points 12, 13. The housing 20 has a bore 21 with grooves 22 to accommodate the leads. In another arrangement the limbs of the U-shaped leads lie along opposite broad faces of the element 10 (Fig. 3, not shown). A ceramic spacer (not shown) having a separate bore for each lead may be provided.
