Abstract

1515690 Differential air pressure brake boosters AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS Ltd 22 Nov 1976 [24 Dec 1975] 52929/75 Heading F2T A vacuum or other differential air pressure booster comprises a movable wall 17 of sheet material 18 sandwiched between hub members 19, 20, 21 enclosing a relatively movable control valve member 33 which extends through, and has a shoulder engageable with, a hole at the centre of the wall 17 to retain the valve member with the wall, a force apportioning device 67 controlling the proportions of the axial force on the output member 61 contributed by the input member 34 and a shoulder 68 of the wall 17. The device 67 comprises a rubber cylinder enclosed between heads 64 and 36 of the output member 61 and valve member 33 and within the hub and acting as a fluid. The hole at the centre of the sheet 18 comprises a portion engaging the neck 37 of the valve member and a larger portion 39 through which the head 36 is passed during assembly of the booster.
