Abstract

1515022 Prosthetic knee joints RICHARDS MFG CO 8 May 1975 [8 May 1974] 03336/78 Divided out of 1515021 Heading A5R A tibial prosthesis 15 for a tibio-femoral joint, comprises an elongate lateral plateau member 49 and an elongate medical plateau member 51, each plateau member having an articulating surface 61 for replacement of the corresponding articulating surface of the tibia and a longitudinal guide 63, 65 cooperable with the femur, a connecting member 57 extending between the one ends of the plateau members so as to maintain said members in spaced relationship with their articulating surfaces in alignment, and means for anchoring the prosthesis to the upper end of the tibia adjacent the femur with the one ends of the plateau members positioned adjacent the anterior portion of the joint. The anchoring means comprises one or more pegs 67 upstanding from each plateau member on a face 69 thereof facing the tibia, each of said pegs having one or more grooves 73 therein, and one or more channels 75 in faces 69 around each peg.
