Abstract

1514808 Drainage and irrigation RHEINBAU GmbH 13 Aug 1975 [14 Aug 1974] 33770/75 Heading A1B An arrangement for draining and irrigating sports grounds comprises a water-impermeable basin 3 installed in an excavated area, the bottom of the basin being provided with a porous layer 4 of filter stones or blocks 13 of porous concrete or compressed filtering gravel. When the porous layer is constituted by filter stones or blocks channels 5 connecting with water-collecting conduits 8 extend therethrough. A filtering membrane 14 prevents fine foreign particles entering the layer 4. The ground surface may be heated by laying electric heating conduits in channels 5, charging pipelines laid in channels 5 with heated water or placing heating elements on the filtering membrane 14 or layer 4.
