1514480 Multi-effect evaporator plant UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY 29 Sept 1975 [16 Oct 1974] 44880/74 Heading BIB In a multi-effect film evaporator plant, the evaporator surfaces in those effects where the heat flux is critical in terms of scale formation or liquid film dry out are increased in area relative to the other effects. In an example of a 6 effect vertical tube system, increasing the evaporator area of the first effect by 50% relative to the others raises the practical temperature limit from 220‹ to 240‹F. In another example, effects 1 and 6 have their areas increased 50%.
