1514053 Hydraulic fluid NISSAN MOTOR CO Ltd and MARUZEN OIL CO Ltd 7 Jan 1976 [13 Jan 1975] 470/76 Heading C5F A fluid composition that is suitable for use as a hydraulic fluid or as a base oil for a hydraulic fluid in a central hydraulic system of a vehicle is a mixture of three specified polyethers, Ia, Ib and II of the empirical formulae and respectively where R is an alkyl group of one to four carbon atoms and R' is hydrogen or an alkyl group of one to four atoms, the proportions are 5 to 30% wt. of component II and 95 to 70 wt. per cent of a mixture of components Ia and Ib in the proportions of 97 to 70 mol per cent of Ia to 3 to 30 mol per cent of Ib, and n, m, n<SP>1</SP>, m<SP>1</SP>, n<SP>11</SP> and m<SP>11</SP> are numbers so chosen that the average molecular weight of the mixture of components Ia and Ib is not more than 330, the ratio (n+n'):(m+m') is between 9:1 and 6:4, the average molecular weight of component II is between 1000 and 7000, and the ratio n<SP>11</SP>:m<SP>11</SP> is between 9:1 and 5:5.
