1526357 N,N<SP>1</SP>-Di-(diaminoalkyl) urea or thiourea SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ BV 20 June 1977 [21 June 1976] 25698/76 Heading C2C [Also in Division C5] In a hydrocarbon fuel or lubricating oil is used a minor amount of an octane requirement reduction agent of formula wherein each R represents the same or different C 1 -C 6 alkyl group, each R 1 represents the same of different C 2 to C 6 alkylene group and X is oxygen or sulphur. The compound may be formed by reacting with urea or thiourea.
