Abstract

1514029 Pistons ITT INDUSTRIES Inc 16 Dec 1976 [29 Dec 1975] 52530/76 Heading F2T A combined end cap and piston rod guide 2 is secured to a cylinder 1 by means of a spring ring 13 engaging corresponding grooves 10, 11 in the end cap 2 and the cylinder 1, sealing being provided by an elastic ring 9 which is compressed by the axial movement of the end cap 2 during assembly. Chamfer 8 and 12 assist assembly. The end cap may alternatively have a skirt (not shown) with a groove in its bore opposite a groove on the outer surface of the cylinder.
