Abstract

1512849 Hybrid circuits WESTERN ELECTRIC CO Inc 12 Aug 1975 [16 Aug 1974] 33483/75 Heading H4R A hybrid circuit for coupling an incoming path 35 and an outgoing path 34 to a bidirectional path TLI comprises amplifying means AH having a feedback arrangement for cancelling from signals outgoing from the bidirectional paths, signals received from the incoming path. The amplifying means is coupled to the bidirectional path via a transformer 11, the primary 10 of which is coupled in series with a capacitor across the path TLI, and the secondary 12 of which is coupled in series with a further capacitor 14 which provides a frequency compensating feedback signal to the amplifying means. The arrangement is to reduce hybrid instability at low frequencies caused by the large inductance of the coupling transformer. The capacitor 14 and resistor 15 operate in conjunction with components 31-33 to reduce the gain of the transmit amplifier at low frequencies, the components 31-33 correcting a D.C. imbalance caused by resistor 15. The application is to resonant transfer PAM, TDM telephone systems.
