Abstract

1512329 Pressure sensitive adhesives BEIERSDORF AG 20 Dec 1976 [20 Dec 1975] 53130/76 Headings C3M and C3U Pressure sensitive adhesive compositions for medical purposes comprise (1) a pressure sensitive adhesive and (2) 1-30% of karaya gum. The adhesive may be a rubber/resin mixture or acrylic ester polymer. The compositions may be coated on substrates to form medical plasters and surgical devices. Examples describe compositions of karaya gum with natural rubber/ colophony/hydrocarbon resin and polyisobutylene/butadiene-styrene rubber/colophony /hydrocarbon resin based adhesives, and with adhesives comprising n-butyl acrylate/isooctyl acrylate/glycidyl methacrylate and n-butyl acrylate/isooctyl acrylate/acrylic acid co-polymers.
