Abstract

1512036 Fire fighting monitors STREBOR FIRE PROTECTION Ltd 6 Oct 1976 [22 Oct 1975] 43397/75 Heading A5A A base for a portable ground monitor e.g. for fire fighting comprises a box enclosure 10 with an inlet 16 in side wall 18, an outlet 12 in top 14; a duct 20 extending between 16 and 12, outlet openings 28 allowing fluid in the duct to enter and partially fill 10 and air escape holes 30 also in the duct 20. A fire hose is attached at flange 22 and the monitor to studs 24, wherein fluid entering 16 passes via 20 to the monitor and also fills 10 via 28. Escaping air via 30 is entrained in the fluid passing to the monitor. A plurality of flanges 22 with a branched duct may also be provided. A drain 32 is provided to allow fluid to leave 10 after use.
