Abstract

1512022 Flocculating agent HEMLAB AG 5 Aug 1976 [21 May 1975] 21889/75 Heading C1C A water treatment agent comprises a concentrated aqueous solution of an inorganic flocculating agent and an organic cationic polymer and is prepared using an aqueous solution of the polymer having a polymer concentration of at least 5% by weight, the types and concentrations of the components being chosen so as to form a stable homogeneous solution. The inorganic flocculating agent is preferably one or more of ferric sulphate, ferric chloride, ferrous sulphate, aluminium chlorohydrate or aluminium sulphate, and the cationic polymer is preferably a polyvinyl pyridine, a polyamide, a polyamine or a polyethyleneimine. The treatment agents are used to heat tannery effluent, raw sewage sludge and potato washing effluent.
