Abstract

1510985 Pipe bends PLASTIC CONSULTANTS (NZ) Ltd 14 July 1975 [10 Aug 1974] 29460/75 Heading F2G [Also in Division B5] A J-tube is characterized in that the curved portion 4 is formed as part of a helix, whereby, the straight portion 2 and curved portion 4 are non-planar and during manufacture by a moulding operation, removal of a mould core from the curved tube portion is not hindered by the presence of the straight tube portion 2. Preferably a J-tube of rigid polypropylene is formed by an automatic moulding operation, wherein a two part water or oil cooled mould core has a cylindrical portion for forming the straight J-tube portion and a curved parthelical portion for forming the bend of the J-tube, which core portions be in unlocked abutment during the injection stage and are automatically removed by an hydraulic motor upon completion of the mould cycle, Two such J-tubes may be combined to form an S-trap.
