Abstract
1510057 Clutch release bearings SKF COMPAGNIE D'APPLICATIONS MECANIQUES 7 July 1976 [8 July 1975] 28266/76 Heading F2L In a clutch release bearing assembly comprising a rolling bearing having inner and outer bearing rings 1, 10, a sleeve 16 of elastic material which mounts the bearing assembly slideably and adjustably on a guide tube 13 is provided with a plurality of axially extending openings 17 and a plurality of inwardly extending ribs 18 which, in use of the assembly, transmit compression forces to the openings to deform the latter and thereby maintain the bearing assembly properly aligned with the clutch. The openings 17 and the ribs 18 may extend the full length or part way along the sleeve 17 and each rib 18 which is in radial alignment with an associated opening may be provided with a slot (Fig. 3, not shown) connected to the opening. For each slot, the pair of portions defining the associated rib may be inclined to the radial direction (Fig.4, not shown).
