Abstract
1510056 Refining palm oil ASAHI DENKA KOGYO KK 19 March 1976 [22 March 1975] 11069/76 Heading C5C Palm oil is refined by heating it in the absence of oxygen at a temperature of 180-270‹C., cooling and contacting it with acid and therafter with adsorbent for the acid, separating the adsorbent and insolubles from the oil and then introducing steam continuously into the palm oil at a temperature of 180-270‹C. under reduced pressure to deacidify and deodorize the oil. The acid is preferably o-phosphoric acid and the adsorbent activated clay. Before contact with adsorbent, the acid is preferably neutralized by contacting the oil with calcium carbonate.
