Abstract

1509511 Hydraulic control circuits DAVYLOEWY Ltd 15 Feb 1977 [28 Jan 1976 7 June 1976] 03328/76 and 23389/76 Heading F1P An accumulator 21, which is arranged close to an actuator 12, has means for rapidly increasing its volume so that the actuator may be vented rapidly into it. The space below a piston 22 in the accumulator is pressurized by compressed air through a line 23 and a valve 24. When a valve 15 is moved into its left position to vent the actuator 12, the valve 24 vents the chamber in the accumulator so that liquid may be rapidly discharged from the actuator into the accumulator through a line 16. The drawing accompanying Specification 1509511 Cog shows an embodiment in which a piston 4A in the accumulator is held in the position shown by an actuator 5. The latter is operated by hydraulic pressure from a line 17. When a valve 10 is operated to discharge the actuator 1, a valve 8 is also operated to cause the piston 5A of the actuator 5 to descend, so that liquid from the actuator 1 may be quickly discharged into the accumulator 4. The actuators 12, 1 are described as being hydraulic capsules in a rolling mill.
