Abstract

150,940. Jewell, A. C. Feb. 3, 1920. Bulk evaporators; evaporators and condensers in structural combination.-A still is formed of two parts, a lower part 3 serving as an evaporating- vessel and a main body portion 1 formed with a flange 2 fitting closely into the part 3 so that the parts can be readily taken asunder and the upper portion 1 fitted to any one of a number of lower parts, adapted to be heated in different ways, as by gas, as shown, by a steam coil or by electricity. The flange 2 extends nearly to the bottom of the evaporating vessel 3, and where the flange 2 joins the body part 1 is formed a groove 6 holding a packing-ring 7 which rests on the turned-over edge 5 of the part 3 when the upper part is in position.
