Abstract
Monomers are continuously removed from polymer dispersions prepared by emulsion or suspension polymerisation of the monomer(s) in aqueous liquor. After the polymerisation has ended, the polymer batch is let down (depressurised) and the gaseous products are condensed and discharged. The heated polymer dispersion is sprayed radially in the form of a hollow cone or in the form of a disc of droplets not more than 6 mm in diameter in an upright vessel against the wall thereof, separated there and collected in the lower part of the vessel with gaseous substances being withdrawn from the spraying apparatus above the point of exit of the dispersion.
