Abstract

1508461 Fibre-reactive polyazo dyestuffs CIBA GEIGY AG 9 April 1975 [10 April 1974] 14611/75 Heading C4P Novel dyestuffs of the formula (wherein each of D 1 and D 2 is the radical of a diazo component which contains at least one heterocyclic fibre-reactive radical and together they contain at least 2 water-solubilizing groups; and Y is the radical of an at least bifunctional acyl compound) are prepared by combining (i) 2-amino-5-hydroxynaphthalene-7-sulphonic acid, (ii) a diazotized diazo component D 1 NH 2 , (iii) a diazotized diazo component D 2 NH 2 and (iv) an at least bifunctional acyl compound which contains the radical Y, in any desired sequence of the partial reactions and in the molar ratio 2:1:1:1 respectively, by coupling and condensation, and when necessary in order to introduce a heterocyclic fibre-reactive radical, acylating with an acylating agent which contains such a radical. Products containing in the diazo component ortho to the azo bridge a complexforming group may be converted into their metal complexes either before introduction of fibre reactive radicals or afterwards. In products containing a readily removable group in the fibrereactive radical this group may be replaced by another group by an appropriate condensation reaction. Y may for example be the radical of an aliphatic or aromatic dicarboxylic acid, a -CO- group or the radical of a heterocyclic acyl compound such as an s-triazine or pyrimidine radical. The novel dyestuffs have use in dyeing silk, leather, wool, synthetic polyamides and polyurethanes, linen, cellulose, regenerated cellulose and cotton.
