Abstract
1508313 Liquid level indication J M OVERTON and M G OVERTON 23 May 1975 [19 Sept 1974] 40799/74 Headings G1H and G1W [Also in Division H1] An apparatus for preventing the contents of a utensil falling below a minimum level comprises a compound lever balance 1, a weight 1D slidable along an arm of the balance 1, a set of separable contacts 1B, 1J one of which is adjustably mounted on the balance arm, and any electrical heater filament 1F, switch 1E and socket outlet 1G connected in circuit with the contacts 1B, 1J. The contents of a utensil positioned on a stand 1A are heated by the filament 1F when the switch 1E is closed, and if the contents falls below a minimum level, determined by the position of the weight 1D, the balance arm moves downward to separate the contacts 1B, 1J, cutting off the voltage to the filament 1F. If the utensil has its own heater filament, it is plugged into the electrical socket outlet I G and the switch 1E is left open.
