Abstract

1508016 Furnace repair apparatus KAISER ELECTRO-REFRACTAIRE FRANCE 10 April 1975 [27 Jan 1975] 14705/75 Heading F4B A device for applying material to walls, particularly to the walls of a blast furnace tapping launder, comprises a self-propelled vehicle with metallic rolling means arranged to contact the ground directly a frame to support at least one bucket for material to be sprayed, a centrifugal spraying head mounted on a platform secured to the vehicle and arranged to be maintained in a desired position independent of the movement of the vehicle, and means for transferring material from the bucket to the spray head. The spray head 13 is supplied from a bucket 34 through conveyers 35a, 16a, 17, and is carried by pivotally linked arms 10, 12 from a rotary shaft 9 mounted on a platform 26 pivoted to a frame 19 which is itself pivoted about axis 20. The vehicle has metal wheels or tracks and its own drive motor 31, pressure cylinders 22, 28 controlling the orientation of the platform 26. The vehicle may straddle a launder to deposit lining material (Fig. 4).
