Abstract

1507433 Games ball NYLEX CORP Ltd 26 July 1976 [28 July 1975] 31106/76 Heading A6D [Also in Division B5] A games ball comprises an outer body of cellular, elastomeric plastics material moulded around a core 13 of cellular plastics material the outer body being of greater density than the core and having a non-cellular skin. The inner core may be made from a rigid polyurethane foam and the outer body of a flexible polyurethane foam, the skin being formed integrally with the outer body with the surface features of the ball moulded into the skin. The core may be moulded in a two - part - spherical mould and provided with a radially disposed pin by means of which the finished core may be clamped in position in a second, two - part spherical mould in which the outer body is cast by varying the ratio of sorbitol polyether polyol to the glycerol polyether polyol used to produce the core the bounce characteristics of the ball can be altered.
