Abstract

1507019 Manganese alloys DELTA METAL (BW) Ltd 7 March 1975 [7 Dec 1973] 56958/73 Heading C7A A material with high acoustic damping properties up to 300 C consists of Mn 78-90 Cu 0-22 Ni 0-22 with optionally Fe 0-5 replacing an equal amount of Cu and or Ni. The damping properties may be improved by a solution treatment at 750‹C solidus (preferably 850-1000‹C) and an ageing at 380-600 C, (preferably 400‹C).
