Tinning.-In a vertical tinning - machine, inclined guides are so arranged as to direct the plates, when raised by a lifting-device, to the nip of the rolls. Plates x are fed through a flux bath 3 between guides a and b in a tin pot 1, and raised by a lifter l to the rolls 4. The lifter l is operated by a lever k which is pivoted on a bracket j and raised and lowered by a cam m<1> driven by a shaft b in bearings g.
