Abstract

1505282 Selective printing CENTRONICS DATA COMPUTER CORP 28 Aug 1975 [10 Sept 1974] 35507/75 Heading B6F A needle printer head assembly is characterized by a bearing 40, at the punt end of the needles 19, made of a self-lubricating plastic which is resistant to wear by the needles 19. Preferred materials are thermoplastic acetal resin, polycarbonate, ethyl cellulose thermoplastic, PTFE, thermoplastic nylon and thermoplastic polyester, which include a dry lubricant, e.g. glass, molybdenum disulphide. As shown the bearing 40 is attached by a fastener 51 to a slot 35 in the assembly 11. The solenoid side of the bearing is tapered and the apertures for the needles on that side may be tapered outwards.
