Abstract
1505226 Rotary positive-displacement fluid machines CATERPILLAR TRACTOR CO 20 July 1976 [1 Dec 1975] 30205/76 Heading F1F A multi-apex rotor 14 for a rotary engine has, at each apex 16, a heat pipe device 26 arranged to transfer heat from the apex to heat-transfer means comprising an annular wall (30) Fig. 2 (not shown) around the rotor bearing 18 having annular fins (37) on its outer surface extending into the heat pipe devices 26 and at least one set of helical fins (35) on its inner surface so that lubricant fed via passages 20, 21 to an annular gap between two shells (18a, 18b) defining bearing 18 is conducted to axially opposite ends of the rotor. The rotor walls may be insulated at 39.
