1503516 Ornamenting B A MOSELEY 10 Dec 1975 [14 Dec 1974] 54118/74 Headings B6G and B6X A picture or design is made by cutting the component parts thereof from a sheet of metal (e.g. aluminium, copper), applying a directional grain to said parts so that the grain in at least some adjacent parts in the finished pattern extends in different directions, and assembling the parts on a base. The grain may be produced by sanding or grinding. Other design features may be produced by saw cuts or machining on the parts. Decorative or protective coatings may be applied to the parts and may include a reflective layer. The base may be of woodreinforced polyurethane foam having a PVC or leathercloth sheet stretched thereover, or of plastics or finished wood.
