1502622 Lubricants SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ BV 6 Oct 1975 [10 Dec 1974 11 Sept 1975] 37401/75 and 19662/77 Divided out of 1502622 and 1502619 Heading C5F A hydroprocessed mineral lubricating oil, e.g. a hydrocracked and hydrofinished vacuum distillate, is stabilized by a minor proportion of a quinone of the formula where R 3 is three or four of the groups R 1 , which may be the same or different, are tertiary alkyl, and the fourth is H or alkyl, each of the groups R 2 , which may be the same or different, is H or alkyl, and n is 0 or an integer from 1 to 4. The oil may also comprise an antioxidant, preferably an amine of the formula where R 4 is an organic group and each R 5 and R 6 is H or an organic group.
