Abstract

1502597 Line indicator IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 29 Oct 1975 [12 Nov 1974] 48880/74 Heading G1B [Also in Division C3] Compositions which contain an unsaturated polyester, a copolymerizable monomer and a photosensitizer, and which are cured by means of visible of UV radiation, further contain a substance which undergoes a colour change in response to the radiation, the rate of the colour change being a measure of the extent of the cure. Preferred colour change indicators are triphenyl-methane dyes, e.g. methyl violet and crystal violet. The polyester may be derived, for example, from maleic anhydride, phthalic anhydride and propylene glycol, and the comonomer may be styrene, methyl methacrylate, diallyl phthalate or vinyl acetate.
