Abstract

1502325 Bite indicators J R DAWS 2 April 1976 [4 April 1975] 13996/75 Heading A1A The indicator which comprises a pivoted pointer 13 visible through a window 11a in a container 11 and having an end 13a adapted to support a rod line, is characterised in that the pointer is held in the shown position by a magnet 16 which can be moved in tube 17 to apply an adjustable force on the pointer. The rod can be supported on the container and is arranged so that when the line is tensioned, the pointer is pulled away from the magnet, bolts 19, 19a being suitable for attaching the container to a bank stick with the pointer in either the vertical or horizontal position. An audio or visual alarm can be plugged in at 22 to operate when the pointer breaks contact with bolt 10. In an embodiment (Fig. 5) the magnet and an electric socket 23 are housed in a plastics container 11 with the pointer 13 pivoted on a support 26, arm 13b having an electrical contact 28 and arm 13a, which supports the line, having a weight 32 which can be arranged to strike support 26 on pivoting of the arm to give another audible warning. The pointer can be coated with luminous paint.
