Abstract

A thermal copying device in which the product to be copied is led past a heat radiator (2), said product consisting in each case of an original (20) and a copying paper or a copying set (21) formed from a coating transfer sheet and an original paper. The originals (20) and the copying papers or copying sets (21) are brought separately into a position in which they lie one above the other in opposite alignment. Provided for this purpose are two scanners (44) of which one (44) is actuated by the leading edge of the original (20) supplied in each case and the other is actuated by the leading edge of the copying paper or copying set (21) supplied in each case, said leading edge being of different design in relation to the leading edge of the original (20). When one scanner (44) is actuated by the original (20) or by the copying paper or the copying set (21), the drive (26; 27) for the assigned feeder (24; 25) is interrupted. A response of both scanners (44) initiates the action of the drive means (39, 40) for the originals (20) and copying papers or copying sets (21) lying one above the other. If the originals (20) are supplied manually, the feeder (25) for the copying papers or copying sets (21) is put into action via the scanner (44) assigned to the originals (20). <IMAGE>
