1501633 Dioxa-bicyclo-octanes CM INDUSTRIES 25 June 1975 07014/77 Divided out of 1501632 Heading C2C Novel compounds I in which R<SP>1</SP> is C 1-4 alkyl and R<SP>4</SP> is halogen, are prepared by treating a compound II with a basic agent in a dipolar aprotic solvent. Compounds II are prepared by condensing a R<SP>4</SP>-substituted salicylaldehyde with a 1-chloro- 2 - hydroxy - 3 - C 1-4 alkylamino - propane in the presence of a dehydrating agent.
