Abstract

1501220 Rail joints; railway stops DEMAG AG 31 July 1975 [2 Aug 1974] 32100/75 Heading B7L A combined locking and barrier apparatus, for the joint of two relatively movable track sections 1 for crane bogies 2, comprises a first device for attachment to the right-hand track section 1 as shown having a locking member 6 biased by a spring 5 towards an operative position and a first angularly movable barrier means including a buffer 15a, and a second device for attachment to the left-hand track section, comprising a socket 17 for reception of the locking member 6, a slider 18 biased by a spring 19 towards the socket mouth for contact with the member 6, and a second angularly movable barrier means including a buffer 15. A pin 22 which projects from the slider 18 engages a spiral cam groove 23 in a sleeve 24 of the second barrier means so that slider movement caused by the locking member produces rotation of the second barrier means to move the buffer 15 from the operative position shown to an inoperative position. The buffer 15 is carried by an arm 14 mounted on a shaft 10 to which is keyed the grooved sleeve 24. End 13 of the shaft 10 is adapted to interlock with end 12 of shaft 10a of the first barrier means so that the two buffers 15 and 15a are simultaneously moved to inoperative positions on coupling of the track sections. The shaft 10 is mounted in spaced bearing blocks 29 between which the sleeve 24 extends, cup springs 30 being disposed between the sleeve and one of the bearing blocks. The locking member 6 may be withdrawn from socket 17 by an electric motor 3 and chain 4.
