Abstract

1501192 Cephalosporin-derived oximes FUJISAWA PHARMACEUTICAL CO Ltd 19 May 1975 21355/75 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of formula and their CO 2 H-derivatives and non-toxic pharmaceutically acceptable salts, wherein R 1 is an N- or (N + S)-containing heterocyclic group substituted by NH 2 -C 1-6 -alkyl, in which the NH 2 may itself be substituted. In examples, these compounds are prepared by (a) hydrolysing the corresponding (oxime)-O-dichloroacetyl compound, (b) forming the S-R 1 bond, or (c) the substituent on the NH 2 group. In Example 4(A), details are given for the preparation of 5- (2,3,4,5,6 - pentahydroxyhexanamidomethyl)- 1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-thiol (Na salt). Therapeutic compositions having antibacterial activity comprise compounds of the above formula and may be administered in conventional forms. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,389,194.
