Abstract

1500556 Milling cutters WICKMAN WIMET Ltd 12 Oct 1976 [21 Oct 1975] 43056/75 Heading B3K A milling cutter of the type having a body portion 10 with a plurality of peripherally disposed recesses 15 in which respective cutting inserts 12 can be secured (with or without their carriers 13), comprises a clamping member 14 for each insert 12 which is pivotable in a respective recess extension 16 in the cutter body 10, one end of the clamping member 14 engaging the insert 12 (or carrier 13) the other end being provided with a screw 19 which is actuated to abut the cutter body and thus pivot the clamping member into engagement with the insert (or carrier) to secure it in its recess. The clamping member described is of "C"-shaped configuration with a projection 17 which engages in the recess extension 16 in the cutter body. The recesses are arcuate to accommodate the "C"-shaped configuration of the clamps.
