1500359 Aminopyrimidinium compounds EISAI CO Ltd 8 Aug 1975 [9 Aug 1974] 33227/75 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of formula wherein R 1 and R 2 are each H or C 1-6 alkyl; R 3 and R 4 are each H, halogen, NO 2 , NH 2 or C 1-6 alkyl, alkoxy, alkyloxycarbonyl or alkylsulphonyl; and X is halogen. They are prepared by N<SP>1</SP>-quaternization of a 4-aminopyrimidine with a phenacyl halide. Therapeutic compositions having antiinflammatory and analgesic activity comprise compounds of the above formula, and may be administered orally.
