Abstract

1500046 Containers H O LAMPERTZ 14 March 1975 [15 March 1974 21 March 1974] 10640/75 Heading B8P A fire-proof container 1, e.g. for storing magnetic tapes, films or filing cards comprises a layer 3 of at least one heat accumulating material surrounded by heat insulating material 2. The layer 3 preferably comprises a silicate compound which changes endothermically, e.g. in the temperature range 50-60‹ C. or 120- 140‹ C., and the material 2 comprises one or more layers of mineral fibre, heat resistant foam or silicate plate material. The layer 3 may be sandwiched between steel sheets (3a), (3b), Fig. 2 (not shown), and an outer metal casing 2a may be provided.
