Abstract

1499876 Electro-forming mesh EMI Ltd 7 Feb 1975 [7 Feb 1974] 05688/74 Heading C7B A mesh with relatively wide bars is made by forming a master pattern having a plurality of electrically conductive strips corresponding to each mesh bar, electro-plating sufficient metal to cause joining together thereof across each plurality of strips to form the bars of the mesh, and stripping the mesh from the master. A glass master, having ruled or etched groups of grooves, containing sputtered metal e.g. Pd may be electroformed with Cu. The mesh may be square, rectangular or lozenge-shaped and the bars may have unequal widths. The mesh may be soldered to a coarser mesh and/or fastened to a support ring to make a microsieve.
