Abstract

1499458 Forging YUAN HO LEE 8 Jan 1976 00694/76 Heading B3H A turn-over device for turning blanks in a nut forming device comprises a rotary shaft 20 perpendicular to a line joining the centres of two adjacent dies 31, 32 or 32, 33, and a clamping device mounted on the shaft such that when a blank is introduced into the clamping device rotation through 180 degrees of the shaft will turn over the blank. The shaft 20 is fitted with a pinion 201 engaging a rack 24 and the clamping device comprises spring plates 25 riveted to a fixed plate 26 formed on the end of the shaft. The blanks are fed by a feeding plate 51 and they are turned as the plate 51 makes an arcuate return stroke clear of the blank following a feed stroke. On the next feed stroke, the blanks which are located in indentations 511 in the plate 51 are carried along by the indentations out of the plates 25. In an alternative embodiment, Figs. 4-6 (not shown), the blanks are transported in indentations (511) in the periphery of a disc (51a). A clamping device is mounted on the end of a rotary shaft (42), which is rotated by bevel gears (411), (431), actuated by a rack (45) and pinion (412) device.
