Abstract

1498777 Automatic control of air/fuel ratio ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 27 May 1976 [28 May 1975] 21976/76 Heading G3R [Also in Division F1] A carburetter choke valve 3 is operated in response to a signal from an exhaust gas oxygen probe 35 to control the fuel/air ratio of the mixture produced by the carburetter. The probe signal, via an integrating amplifier 36, energizes an electromagnet 39 which operates a rack 41 or a lever or has a rotary output. The signal may control an hydraulic or pneumatic piston and cylinder choke actuator. The carburetter may be calibrated to provide a desired stoichiometric mixture with the valve at an angle α The signal may be operative after operation of the valve 3 by a manual or engine temperature responsive device with the engine below its normal operating temperature.
