Abstract

1498475 Wine press WALKER DESMOND & SONS Ltd 7 Sept 1976 [12 Nov 1975] 46660/75 Heading A4C [Also in Division B1] A wine press consists of a tubular, perforated, metal body 20 supported in a plastics tray 11, inverted U-shaped braces 13 being secured through the tray to a metal plate 10 by nuts 17, 18 and at their upper end locating the ends of a thrust member 21 through which passes a screw 24 engaging with a disc-like presser 26, the braces resisting upward movement of the thrust member as the screw is used to move the presser downwards through the body. Grooves 22 in the thrust member locate the crosspieces 15 of the braces. A handle 28 enables the presser to be removed from the body and juice leaves the tray through aperture 30. In a modification the braces are attached directly to the tray.
